: Removing body from frame Q's

I have decided to do a "frame off" on my 1971 Monte Carlo, mostly due to extensive trunk rust. What is the best way to remove the body from the frame and then support the body so I can repair the trunk pan and bumper filler area?

I was thinking of building some "sawhorses" in some kind off an I beam fashion out of 2x6s that would rest on the rocker panels. Would the body be too heavy to rest there? Surprisingly they are not rusted out.

Suggestions, comments?

I made support stands and spanned 2x4's between them, lifted the body with my hoist , one end at a time and set it on the rockers.

I put my body on cinder blocks and railroad ties. This was for the simple fact that I did not know how it wieghed. I put one support under the front body mounts at the fire wall and also thru the rear wheel wells. You can use a engine hoist to lift one end at a time. Make sure that you disconnect the emer. brake cable
