Replaced my stock water pump on my 454 with one from pep boys.... Now the stock pulley scrapes and it dosnt have the same bolt pattern.... I'm going to buy a mach one serpentine conversion kit for it anyway and was wondering if I'm going to have the same problems... Thanks

Sounds to me like Manny Moe or Jack gave you the wrong pump!!

I was hoping so... Problem is its not under warranty and I've already sprayed it to match my engine so can't play the dumm kid who knows nothing about cars and have them send it back.... But I checked autozone and napa they hand me the same pump... Thing is its a 66 chevelle with a 454 and that wasn't an option so they can't run it on there computers.... Took me going behind the counter today to get hoses that were similiar lol but thanks anyway

I know what ya mean.....you go in and ask for a water outlet gasket and they go into their....."What car is this for?".......What year is it?"....."What motor is in that?"...."What transmission?"
Like a transmission has anything to do with a water outlet!?!?

I always liked when I needed plugs for my 71 Chevelle which had 66 327 heads on it!! I confused the hell outta of 'em!!:D

Spacers are available from a few places, like Mr. gasket, for problems like this. Mr gasket spacers come in a pack of 3 or four sizes. Worked for me when changing from stock BB pump to edelbrock alum. The wrong bolt pattern is another issue. Take it back

Is it scraping one of the ribs? If so why not just clearance the rib. I don't know about the bolt pattern.

I've ordered another one for like 20 bucks... Who knows doubt it'll last but it'll get my car back on the road.... Those are all good ideas but the pulley bolt pattern won't line up.... But I'm buying new pulleys anyway in like a week or 2 so not real worried about it... Just need to drive my car.... I'm a adict... Thanks for the help
