I am cloning a '70 to an SS/bracket racer and have the very clean original no cowl hood. Can I modify and use this hood by cutting and attaching a scoop from some manufacturer. This could save me from buying a "cowl hood" for $300 + and I think I could do a fine job. This seems to me like a stupid question, but I just want to know if it is that simple. I'd rather buy a scoop and create this hood myself than pay Goodmark $300 and still need more room under the hood.
