Hello Everyone,
I have a newbie question for you. How do I removel the bottom of the rear seat from a 1970 Chevelle? In the past, most of my project cars were Vette's, with only 2 seats..no rear seat and I just can't seem to get the seat in the Chevelle to release.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

They don't come out, don't even try. J/K. The bottom of the seat has a spring piece that comes down on the front, one on each side, and catches on a hook welded to the floor. Take a flashlight and take a look at it so you know what you're dealing with. Push back then pull up, one side at a time. Some guys use a large screwdriver to help pry it out. I didn't need to to that with mine, been in and out a few times. Just push really hard towards the trunk then pull up.

This is a aquick drawing of what my '72 looks like. The red is the seat and black is the hook on the floor pan.

It may be different for a '70. I just know how hard it was to figure it out the first time.

Here is a pic of the bracket that the seat hooks into, push down and back at the same time then pull up and towards you.
I am looking for one of these so if anyone has a parts car let me know

I have a question that fits with his original. I have got my bottom section out no problem. But how do you get the top section out on 72?

Look under the bottom of the seat back, Should see two bolts. Remove the bolts and lift up, There are hooks along the front of the package that the top of the seat hooks into.

Ty.
Ok... so Alwhite was kind enough to post a good description of what you needed to know, and all you can say is "ty"? I guess the reply wasn't worth a full "thank you". Don't wear out your keyboard, Bubba.
