Can anyone give me some information on part# 14101081? They are cylinder heads on a Monte Carlo SS with a 305. I checked the Mortec site and the only info listed was 87-95 305 heads. They use the center-bolt valve covers. I am interested in combustion chamber size and intake runner info. I saw posted somewhere on this site that they are TPI heads but the car I saw them on had a quadrajet carb that looked like stock equipment. I am trying to figure out if these heads would be a good upgrade for my 307. I found two sets at the junkyard and they both had the same casting numbers. Also would the heads off of Trans Am GTA be compatible? Thanks for the help.

Are the chambers bathtub shaped like the old -461 double-hump heads or squared-off like the old -882 smog shaped heads??

I ask b/c the bathtub shaped ones like the old 305HO, -601 heads are dandies, imho!!

AND cc them anyway b/c they can run anywhere from 52 to 58 cc's!!

Plus, they PROBABLY have 160+ cc intake ports!!!!

PS., check this site out, it's a dandy too!!

Just hit on the number of the head(s) you are interested and see what pop's up!!

081's are good 305 heads, comparable to the 601 except for center bolt covers, revised center intake bolt angle, and use of self aligning rockers. The ones I have had could only handle about .44"-.45" lift without work before the guides interfere though.

Not sure of the chamber shapes since the heads are still on the car. My current cam has a lift of .450 so that might work. My intake is an edelbrock performer eps, not sure if it will accomodate the revised center bolt holes. Also not sure if my roller rockers will work? If I have to change all those things I might be better off to buy a set fo vortecs. Or maybe I will just keep searching for a set of -601's.
