I just put my fiberglass cowl hood on my 70 convertible. The only problem is that the front drivers side edge is too low for the hideaway windsheild wiper to come out of. The hood itself is even adjusted slightly higher than the fender but the wiper still hits. Has anyone had this problem?

I have the same problem with my '69. Thankfully my wipers didn't work in the first place so it wasn't a problem. I guess that's not the answer you wanted. I think you'll need to have some grinding and finishing to the bottom of the hood by a professional. Thats the only solution i can think of.

The funny thing is that my wipers are not even working at the moment. When I restored the engine compartment and rebuilt the motor I didnt do something right when I put the windshild wiper motor back in. Im going to grind on it this weekend. Im also wondering if I can just go with a wiper that doesnt do the hideaway thing. Is there such a wiper?

yes there is non-hid-away wipers. i think the only difference is the motor and wind shield bottom chrome. i have it email me for pic. you might be able to just take your wiper arm off and possition it so it stayes on the windshield when its all the way down. if it runs off of the window when it is all the way extended you might be able to put shorter wiper blades on to keep it from hitting the vertical windshield trim.

Blaster, Just a thought on the wiper motor. Did you remember the metal grounding strap? Without it it won't work. Secondly sometimes those motors will freeze up from sitting around, a light tap with a Ford tool will sometimes get them to kick.
BTW I sent out an email to Florida members regarding the Spring Spectacular and yours came back to me as undeliverable?

I dont even recall seeing a ground strap. Maybe a ground wire. I still have to mess with it some.
