I am new to this form and I need to get some help instaling a floor shifter on my 71 chevelle that came with orignally column shifter. If you guys have some kind of body specs where the shifter should mount on the body please send me the information.

When I did my 70 there were dimples in the floor pan to locate the shifter mounting screw holes.

if you are installing an original console it's easiest to pull back the carpet and see where the factory holes are. if it's not a stock shifter, just put it where it's most comfortable for you
