I don't recall how I broke the rod, but last year I was working in the trunk area (lid removed) and I snapped that rod that holds the trunk in the open position. (I think I pushed one hinge down for some reason). Anyway, I need a replacement.
Any ideas ? Does anyone make this piece? redface.gif

Thanks for any ideas

No one maeks this part its a junkyard only deal. 68-72 chevelle and 70-72 buick skylark are the same. Also you need to get the proper side as the rods are side specfic they DO NOT interchange from side to side...Eric

Let me know if you can't find one down there. Two local wrecking yards, Little Johns and AB's, both have several Chevelles in their yards at the moment. I think 70 - 72 Monte Carlo rods will work also.

i had the same prob like three months ago. I went online and found a place , I think it was http://www.jimmysbowtie.com/. they had a set (had to order both cause I knew i would mess up and get the wrong one....lol). Used, with priority air del. I think they cost me about $90. Very nice people to talk to...along with alot of other people who have been helpful like goodmarkindustries and ausleys. I pretty much have ordered a whole new car at this point.lol
