I'm trying to restore the ride height of my 70 Chevelle convertible with BB and factory air, I really like the look of the "old school" muscle cars with the front up in the air instead of level or slammed, anybody have any recommendations on where these springs can be purchased and what will give me the height I'm looking for. Any part numbers will be helpful. I remember back in the 80's, I went to my local Chevy dealer and ordered BB springs for a small block ElCamino I had and installed them and gained nothing height wise on the install, this is what I'm trying to avoid. Part numbers and vendor info will be most helpful. Anybody have any pics of new front spring installs on their car with the look I'm after?
Thanks guys,

Moog 5450. A body springs range from 15 to 18 inches high. Some of the taller springs use a smaller wire diameter and don't have a very high spring rate. They were made more for a soft ride. The Moog 5450 spring has a 450 psi rating and was made for a big block with A/C.

GCole, I already have the semi "in the weeds" look now, i want to get the car up in the air a bit. I'm not into hanging it all out on the twisties. I'm looking for the 70's hot rod look, COPO, Baldwin Motion, Yenko, Nickey to name a few, have you ever seen any of their old magazine ad's, everyone I've seen sat up all the way around. Even with stock tire and wheel combinations, I just like the look of the old muscle cars sitting up all the way around.

Ken K, Kinda sounds like what I'm after. Have you used this spring in any of your rides and if so, were you happy with the results? I do have a big block Chevelle convertible and I do have factory air so will this spring give me what I've got now or will it raise it up a bit? Think I should consider going with a spring for a Big Block wagon with air? Likes I said, I'm looking for about 2" more then what I have now.

I have not used the 5450 springs. Someone with a Pontiac had the up in the air front end. They put in the high rate springs springs that were 15 inches high and it only dropped the front end 3/4 inch. A Pontiac engine weighs about 100 pounds less than a big block. Moog 5400 springs might work. They are 17 inches tall and have a 360 psi rating. I don't think you have any other choices than the 5450 springs that have a higher spring rate and are 15.5 inches tall or the 5400 springs.
