I'm looking to find a replacement molding on the rear passenger side of my 4-door 74 Malibu (it runs horizontally across most of the rear passenger door).
I'm having difficulty finding the molding. Does anyone know if this type of molding was used in other years for Chevelles and/or on other Chevy models?
Thanks!

The moldings on your car look like factory vinyl insert bodyside moldings. They were offered in that style from at least '74 - '77 (didn't see them mentioned in the '73 brochure but they may have offered them; in '72 something similar was offered). They were glued on with adhesive, not drilled (better in preventing rust but they'll droop & fall off in time). You may actually have good luck using generic 'cut as required' stuff by the roll. I don't know how popular that stuff is to find today, but it used to be plentiful.

I haven't seen this "cut as required" vinyl in my area, but I will continue to look for it. I was looking at a 70's 2-door Monte Carlo yesterday, and the molding on that car was larger ("taller") than what I have on my 74 4-door Malibu sedan. So I'm not sure what other years/models may have caried the smaller molding that I have.
