I finally found a replacement wheel for my 68, but it's been painted once already. I'd like to strip it before I reatore it, but I'm not sure what to use.

Any thoughts? Can you have plastic media blasted without messing it up?

Before a suggestion is made, what kind of wheel do you have?

Doh! Should have said that.

It's the standard plastic 68 wheel. 3 spoke style with the metal center section. I need to know how to get the paint off the plastic wheel as it's been painted at least once, and I don't think it would look good if I put another coat on it.

Thanks,
Kurt

I would contact an auto paint supply store and see what they recommend in the way of a paint stripper. I would think that not all paint strippers are created equal, and some could eat the wheel as well as your paint. I wouldn't plastic media blast, as you may ruin the texture of the wheel.
