Gentlemen, as much as I love my cars, I am sick of being wet with perspiration after a drive. Does anybody make cloth upholstery for a 68 or 69 Chevelle? Thanks for any consideration to my question. R. B.

It's kinda an "old fart" deal, but you can buy the mesh type things that you place in the seat & sit on. I have one (I'm entering oldfarthood :) ) and it's really pretty comfortable. I can actually feel a breeze behind my back & under my butt. It's a lot less trouble than new upholstery.

BillL It's not because of the mesh thing that you feel a breeze under your butt. :D

Have you checked Year One, Ground Up etc? I believe they have covers with cloth inserts, at least for bucket seats. There is also a company that makes good looking non-standard cloth covers, but I have forgotten the name of it. If you're interested in that, try to get a hold of Ben Rambow (Ahsom -69), I believe he used that in one of his cars.

If you want to go cloth, check with Cars Inc (www.carsinc.com). They're the only company I know of that makes black prima cloth seats as came with A-Body cars. My '70 Monte came with black prima cloth seats originally and I would've bought some from Cars Inc, but managed to find a NOS set.

Thanks guys, I have checked all three sources suggested. Turns out that CARS Inc. is the only one that I could discover had fabric, and they list it in dark blue, which is what I need. I did find out some interesting bits about what is now available from the other sites as well.

Called a Kool Kushion. Just saw some in Wally World the other day. In the 60's I lived in Fresno, CA--a most Hellacious place in summer--and used one every summer. By end of summer it was pretty much shot. And I wasn't even an "old f*rt yet.

Old farts like comfort so forget the cloth and go buy some AIR CONDITIONING!

Besides farts sound better on vinyl not cloth http://www.chevelles.com/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif
