i have a 68 rag top with bad floor rot.
i want to sandblast the frame and replace
all lines/bushings ect.
should i do the floor first for some support
or weld some crossbars in before t remove
the body. is there any precautions with a convertable. thanks alot.

I can't say on the floorpans for sure. I would think you would want to replace them first.

As far as bracing off the body if you intend on lifting it off the frame. YES definitely.

I used a couple of 1" rigid electrci conduit to brace mine off. Flatten a spot in the middle and thru bolt it to form an X. Flatten the ends, bolt one to the door hinge locations and the other end where the Convertible top frame bolts in.

Others might have better ideas, but that one worked for me.

Without a brace of some sort the body will flex and rehanging the doors could be a real chore.

I replaced the floors on my 65 convertible one side at a time before lifting the body off the frame. I braced the doors and ran a brace between them and back to where the rear seat was. I have pictures of the floor installation, bracing and how I lifted the body on my website. I made my own rotator and welded the bottom seams of the new floor pans once it was on the rotator. I've done it on my back in the past, never again. Go for it!
