I decided to go with differnet shocks ( to eliminate my air shocks). I bought Gabriel shocks and installed them. I knew my rear would drop because theres no more air holding it in the position i like.
It must have dropped like 3 inches. I took it for a spin and i was bottoming out on the center rubber bump above my diff. at stand still there is about 3 inches clearance there... i need to get more heighth, how would i do that???

Sounds to me like you need to be looking at your rear springs. They probably need replaced. Don't know how else you would correct your height.

Most aftermarket replacement springs that you get through the local spring shops make the car sit quite a bit higher than original. My '69 had the same problem as yours when it was brand new. The dealer installed new rear springs under warranty and that helped some. These cars sat pretty low at the best of times. A firmer shock might help your situation some. I have had good results with KYB gas shocks on our '72 Lemans Sport. It too has aftermarket springs and sits a couple of inches higher than it would have originally.

so i need new springs? I think it would still be too low. I need some kind of spacers, but can't find any. Ive found some for jeeps and they look like they would work, but don't want to buy them if im not sure. I could almost make my own if i had the proper tools.
How do you guys get your rear ride height just right??

I have a pair of wagon springs. I swaped them out because it sat to high, You can try them on your car, see what you think before spending the $.
We can work out a fair price or trade, I'll even help you install them. BTW they were on my 70 chevelle.

Hey, that sounds prett good. I found some at summit (cargo springs CC509) for $70 or so, but they have to order them. Wouldnt get them for a month... im slammin hard going over bumps. The top of my diff. is hitting the rubber stop. Not fun.
Is there a place we can meet?
