Hello,

I have a Grant steering wheel that was originally dyed gray when new. It is worn some and I would like to know if I can safely strip the gray dye off and re-dye it black. If so, what method(s) can I use?

Thanks!

Brent

I don't think you can "remove" the grey dye, you probably can only dye it black. I'd check with a high-end classic car restoration or upholstery companys. JustDashes.com might be able to help you. Or these folks might have what you want LeatherWorldTech.com (http://www.leatherworldtech.com/category.aspx?categoryID=46) But it might be simpler to just recover the wheel. I'd be careful of any home made solution... you may be driving with black hands!

Try e-mailing Grant Wheels, they will probably have a recommendation
