: Did I trash all my new parts??

Just wondering. I'm the king of stupid moves. I removed all my suspension from my '70 convertible while getting ready to pull the body off the frame. I figured I'd wire brush and sand the control and trailing arms, the rear end, and so forth. So, I took the suspension arms to the local part store, bought bushings, ball joints and the like, and had them pressed in. After a few hours' work cleaning up one control arm, I decided that was too much like work. Took everything to a local sandblasting place that everyone raves about. Got it all back. It looks like they didn't cover anything up. They just blasted. I can't help but think I have sand in everything. I hope I didn't just spend lots of money to install brand new stuff and then spend some more to get it all ruined! AAAAArghh!

Well...i'd say it depends on if they used sand or some other media also if you installed zirks on the arms and didnt cap them off.

I'd use them.

The bushings should be fine, but I'm not sure about the ball joints. It's a tough call, but if the zerks were there and the boots were full of grease, you might be ok. Even if some sand happened to work it's way into the boots, I doubt that it will find it's way down to the ball joints. If you decide to use them, you might want to pump a lot of grease into them to "flush them out" before you put the control arms on the car.

I would too. Even if it might not be necessary, four ball joints is a cheap price for peace of mind.
