I haven't tried that but have used POR15 and Eastwood Encapsulator alot. There was a recent comparo between Eastwood and POR with the nod going to the Eastwood. It was in Auto Restorer. You can find it on the Eastwood site. ANyway, I now use Eastwood mainly because it doesn't have the isocyanates ( sp?). Just did my subframe and have other areas 2+ years old that are holding up very well. Pruden's in Pok has POR15. I like it's chip resistance.

I have also used Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator and POR-15 . Ive seen the Encapsulator flake off in one area on a frame that was painted with it a few years ago and the POR-15 that was done at the same time on another section of the frame is still looking good. Like the Encapsulator, the Rust Bullet seems more user friendly, meaning that you just brush any loose flakes or dirt off, then apply a total of 2 coats of Rust Bullet over the area and if desired topcoat with any paint. That is a very nice feature there, topcoating with any paint, unlike POR-15 if you wish to topcoat it with other paints you must first use their tye-coat primer over the POR-15 then topcoat with whatever you want. I will have to get some Rust Bullet and give it a try. I wonder if its also brushable? --------------------------------------1968 Chevelle Malibu (Weekend Cruiser) 1969 Chevelle Malibu (Daily Driver)

You don't really need to use TIE-COAT Primer. You can use a scotch brite pad and scuff the surface, this will allow the topcoat to adhere to the POR-15. It's true, TIE-COAT gives a much better cosmetic finish to lay paint over at any rate.

I wonder if its also brushable?
Roller, brush, spray, dip, all works fine.
Has a curing time of about 2 hour, 45-60 minutes to the touch, thus it allows any prush strokes to disappear.

Thanks for the info. on that Dave. So I just have to scuff up the POR-15 (was brushed on several months ago) around rear windshield area and package tray area, and wipe off,and I could spray a spray bomb of black Krylon or other brands over the POR-15 and it will adhere ok without peeling, lifting or flaking ? You don't have to scuff the POR-15 if you are topcoating it with the Chassis Coat Black, but for anything else you do need to scuff. I did my front control arms with Metal Ready, POR-15 and Chassis Coat Black and they turned out great. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
