This thing is the cat's meow for clamping panels together. It holds em as tight as vise grips and you can make a slight adjustment with a tap of a hammer.
The kit sells for around 120 bucks, but price out 5-6 vise grips

Small enough that you can check fit around doors, trunk lid. I use them when bonding door skins I can clamp the skin on the shell, check the fitment then glue.

A few guys at work have them and like'm a lot. I think I will stick to my fourty thousand dollars I have in vice grips (come on now guys, that is only twenty pair smile.gif ).

I've got one drawer of my toolbox filled with about 30 pairs of visegrips, I sure wish they would have designed this awhile back. Eric, any idea what the cost of replacement clips is? I'm sure I'd lose some clips after awhile so ordering an extra set with the tool might be a good idea.

Neat little gadget... but with my luck and the clips being that small.. I would
A. forget to remove them
B. Weld them fast !
C. Loose them in my BIG Drawer filled with every vise grip, C clamp , bar clamp design, KNOWN to Man Kind..

I like that, I may need to order one up with extra clamps.

Extra clips are like 12 bucks for 5 clips, I just bought a set of the double and triple panel clamps, not cause I lost them either.

At last count I had 105/106 vise grips  am afraid to know the total investment on that, on average probably 30 bucks a whack

These are the cat's meow. We use the snot out of them when gluing on panels. For those who use them, you can throw them in a Dox mixing cup with some aircraft stripper in it and it will take off the glue. Also takes off the nice plating on the gold colored ones but.....

Not to Morph the Thread.. I always looked forward to the New Wurth Hanging Calender. I held them in the same high esteem as my old Snap on Clocks.. smile.gif Is it me ? or has the Photos become LESS provocative LESS Risque ?

IMO it's lost it's prominent position on my tool BOX.

The new Matco and Mac calenders are very nice. Less risque (has that word ever been used in this forum?) is ok. I don't want anything on my tool box my kids can't see. I still have my favorite "Month" Mac one hanging in my garage from around 1988. A sweet looking girl standing next to a prop of a P-51. Two of my favorite things together, can't get better than that.

Eric, I did help a guy with a VW door skin yesterday who has those clips. He wanted to force the skin up a little on the shell and have me clamp it. I really didn't think it was going to hold because the skin didn't want to be there. I told him to get some vice grips, but he insisted on the clamp. Well, I was surprised, one clamp held it.

I use these or something similar instead of (or in combination with) vicegrips a lot doing aircraft sheetmetal repairs. maybe a thought for you guys. they are pretty durable and last for years of abuse. cleco (http://www.yardstore.com/index.cfm?action=ViewDetails&ItemID=1026&Category=88)

That link took me to a "pin puller spot welder" . Is that what you are using to replace vise grips?

No there site is off. I noticed at a few other links are wrong also. Basically they are a U-shaped clip that you slid over the seem.

Well, they sound really nice. I whish I knew what you were talking about. The link does not work.
Anybody care to go into detail as to what this is and how it actually works, and where you can get them?
