i recently aquired a pair of GM nos 66 chevelle bumpers. the front is still in the rubber jacket. rear jacket was removed years back and it appears to have tiny specs that look like the rubber jacket fragments. i dont want to use brillo on it. any ideas on what is a polish that will cut this stuff off safely? i tried some metal polishes with no luck.thank you

The small marks are probably pits from exposure. I just bought a NOS front one for my 71 and it has some too. If they are actually from the rubber coating, I would think that any good solvent or chrome cleaner should remove them easily.
