restoring 69 SS... can brushed aluminum trim on grille with a dull "milky" look be saved? If so, how?

Timdog -

The aluminum trim on your grille should not have a brushed finish. Rather, it should have a bright, shiny anodized finish like the lower body side moldings and wheel well moldings. To restore this finish, you have to send these moldings to a plating shop to have them strip off the old anodizing and replate them.

Make sure the method used doesn't put too much force on it. Those little aluminum bars will bend. If the bars aren't straight then it kind of ruins the look of the grille.
1969s used plastic grilles so I guess you must mean the trim for it. Try Simimchrome or Autosol. If that doesn't work, then batch all your stuff for re-annodizing.
