Is the 68 control unit for A/C supposed to have 3 cables or 2 going to the heater box?? I see only 2 places it that cables can hook up to on the heater box itself, but it looks like 3 cables were attached to the control unit. Also, I need to know where the 2 vacuum lines coming off the control unit go. I know one goes to the pod behind the kick panel on the pass. side, just not sure which one, and I have no idea where the other one goes.

There are 3 cables to the box. The top lever controls the temperature door (air flows over the heater core or is blocked from it), the middle lever controls the outlets (heater outlets or dash outlets), the bottom lever opens & closes the defroster doors. The top lever also controls the vacuum pods for outside air or recirculated air. One of these is in the right kick panel, the other one is under the hood, in the cowl on the right side. The Chassis Service Manual will help you out.

Tom,
Do you have the factory assembly manual for a 68? I would think it would have that info.
