I’ve been looking for hours and I’m beginning to think I'm not going to find this piece new? Between the quarters top of the truck that actually goes under the rear window.
Also does it have a name?

Are you refering to the deck filler (your's looks to be striped) or are you refering to the metal speaker deck on the inside.

As already said, the filler panel is available.
The speaker deck is not except via parts cars...

I need both actually. The speaker deck goes all the way to the truck where the lip holds the truck seal the Part #4032-710-68 goes over the top of that. I’m going to have to start checking this stiff out before I start destroying things….

Rule #1. ;) Dont destroy the old part until you have the new part in your hand.

Pictures can be deceiving, trust me if it wasn’t bad I sure as hell would not have gone through the effort of removing it.

I need that speaker deck too and could only rarely find anyone with one. Invariably, they were rusted pretty badly around the edges.

I've had a couple guys over the last 7 months who claim their's were in good shape, but never managed to get anyone to cut one out and send it to me. The agreement always seems to break down when the work starts.

I'm still looking and am resolving myself slowly to the fact that I can probably grind out the rust, resurface the whole thing and cover with POR. The package tray covers it, so unless you're upside down and backwards inside the trunk, it won't show.

...and this isn't a points restoration job, so I can live with it...

I’m just going to cut out the bad stuff and weld in new, then reattach it. It’s a lot easier to work on removed from the car.
I’ve checked every source I can think of even thought about going fiberglass but no one and I mean no one makes that piece. I’ve been working with one of the Goodmark reps and there are no plans right now for them to reproduce it either.
I was hoping maybe someone had a line on some good ones just to save some time but I’ve lost hope and already started reconditioning the old one.
Good luck with yours.

I picked up both rear speaker deck/filler panel, and complete rear window channel cut from ebay. The guy also said he has more cars he's cutting up. His user name is azchevs. Find one of his auctions and email him. I was ready to give up as well. Tried several different sources. One yard destroyed the piece by cutting the sides, and the others never got back to me. This guy drilled out all the factory welds, and did the channel cut exactly as requested.
Hope this helps,
Terry

I found him & send him a message, thanks. Just out of curiosity what did you have to give for the one you bought?

I won that one at $107.50 + shipping. The auction was pretty recent, take a look at # 2484048079. The window channel was another auction of his ending several days later. It was a complete roof, minus the front window channel. I didn't need the whole roof, so to save on shipping he did a cut for me, crated everything, and shipped via truck line to So. Ca., freight collect. The parts turned out to be better shape than the pics show.

Wow, he responded and fast. But he wants more than double what you paid - 275.00 for the pieces + shipping. How much was your COD? Do you think 275.00 is worth it? I guess you can’t put a price on something that’s not available anymore….

Wow! must be in demand! I bid that much, just trying to make sure I won it! Was at the point where the whole project was being held up for weeks, just looking for this part. I would find out how much for just the speaker deck + shipping,
Than look into the reproduction filler panels. Also, if he's willing to look into it, suggest Greyhound for shipping. Can't beat thier rates!
