hi guys,

i am going to have my 72 chevelle painted silver, despite my username. But before i do go and buy the paint, I would like to look at some examples so if anyone has any pics they'd like to post, you dont know how much it would be appreciated.

thanks Nick

Here's a color for ya. Check out my site www.angelfire.com/ky2/mycars (http://www.angelfire.com/ky2/mycars)
The pictures don't do it justice. This is a cadillac color.
The new volkswagon color is awesome also.

On my web site, www.Jeffry72.50megs.com (http://www.Jeffry72.50megs.com)
there are pictures of my old 72 SS and my 71 Elky that are both painted a 93 Honda Sebring Silver. The pictures don't due them justice but they are very lively in person due to the fact it contains pearl. The new Honda silver and VW silver are extremely nice too.

I don't know how to post a picture. I'll e-mail a pic of my car. This is the day I picked-up the car. I'm currently in the process of restoring it. Looks great in silver.

hello,
im going to have to recomend you get STORM METALIC GREY, i got that with white rally stripes on my 70 chevelle. it looks so good. really. i get complements every day i go out in it. storm metalic grey i belive is a chevrolet or a dodge color although im not sure. you can find it in a ppg paint code book at any good body shop (the american one) or anything. i dont have any pictures of my car right now (Sadly) but i you will make no mistake in going with this color. i gaurantee it.

You may want to check out Rainer's website.
I think he still has a '70 that is in silver color. Rainer is a frequest poster here and is from the North leftcoast country.

Mine is a '71 SS. Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures of it yet, but the color is very similar to Rainer's. Mine is actually a Nevada Silver which may be a shade or two darker than that on the '70. I had the PPG guys take several readings from the underside of the trunk and had them mix me up a batch to put it back to original. Worked out great. The only minor complaint that I have is the chrome moldings and bumpers seem to get "washed" into that silver color and do not stand out quite as distinctly as they would on a darker colored car.

I like mine anyway, just the way it is.

my beautiful 87 elky is silver with smoke gray trim. kind of wondered what it would looklike on a chevelle. Maybe you can switch the colors, and paint it all silvr with smoke gray stipes, or vice versa. I have pics, but can't get them off my digital camera. sorry.
