After my recent engine installation I am now in the market for a cowl hood to clear the air cleaner. I alreay tried a shorter cleaner with no luck. I am looking for a 2 to 2-1/2 cowl hood.
Does anyone have any input on good manufactures to look at? I haven't decided on steel or fiberglass yet so input on the pros/cons of these would be appreciated. Thanks.

i haven't had good experiences with unlimited products....they told me 2 weeks to make and deliver. 4 weeks went by and i called, they still hadn't even finished making it yet!!! i haven't had an experience with other fiberglass company's, but i know that unlimited products didnt' have mounting holes....i would go with steel unless the weight makes a big difference to you. just my opinion. hope it helps!!!goodluck

have you tried a dropped base air cleaner. My 408 with Performer RPM and Holley 750 just clears my stock hood.
Cowl hoods look mean! Check out Harwood Industries. The body shop I use said Harwood is the highest quality fiberglass hood they have seen. They have been showing other customers my car to show how well it fits out of the box. I guess they had a guy who brought in a fiberglass hood recently that was of inferior quality so they pointed out the differences between my Harwood and the one the guy brought in. It was a manufactured by a company mentioned often here.
I would buy the Harwood again without a second thought.

Purs: Yeah I have a dropped air cleaner base with a ~2" cleaner. The problem is that I'm runnning a Holley Strip Dominator single plane and it puts the carb up too high.
Thanks everyone for the input. I was looking at Unlimited Products so I'm glad I asked.
