Not sure how many of you get Hemmings Muscle Machines or if you have received the September Issue yet.. but one of my best friends and a fellow Team Chevelle Member here.. ED PIENTA from Wilkesbarre, PA, is featured with a very nice color layout on his Black 67 Chevelle SS 427. :hurray:

Ed doesn't Post here much, but he's been here since the start under "BLACK RAT" and for those of you who have had the pleasure of seeing this car over the years, at various Super Chevy ( GOLD CLASS ) events or Chevelle-abrations.. well, you know how worthy this car is, one of theee BEST in the country today, with paint so deep you need a life jacket when you stand near it or fear drowning in the depth! and this aint no FRESH Restoration... been done over 10 yrs... but Looks like it was just finished last week!! For those who have never seen it... I'm sorry for ya.. but fret not... it isn't going anywhere.. cept maybe another Car Show near you, so check out this car, check out the magazine and be sure to say Hi to Ed if you come across this car in person, they don't come more friendly or knowledgable!! My Show Sign Board in front of my Danube Blue 66 SS gives special Thanks to ED Pienta and that's for a good reason.. Without Ed's expert skill and great advice... My car would never look like it does today!

Way to go ED!!

No doubt about it....Ed is THE MAN!...and real good peeps too! Glad to see him getting some coverage in a prestigious magazine! AND...as nice as those photos are in the magazine, they don't come close to seeing the car in person. ...as anyone that has been to the MCC Show can attest.

Congrats Ed!!

I've seen it at the MCC shows and the most recent Super Chevy. Nice car, real nice! It's very distinguishable with the red body line and the red line tires. Pretty cool.

Saw that too.
Knew I recognized the car from Chevelle-a-bration a couple years ago.

Really did a super nice job on that car.
Might be my favorite 67 Chevelle.

Like the colors, the wheels, the tires, and the workmanship, is beyond excellent.

Hemmings Muscle Machines is my favorite of all the rags I get each month...very classy layout and some neat cars get covered. I figured that 67 in this month's issue must be nice.
The entire write-up was well done...congrats to Ed and his beautiful car.

got mine in the the mail yesterday. I'm happy for Ed, you won't find a nicer/more helpful guy who is also very humble. Who would have thought a new set of wheels and redlines could almost remake a car as nice as Eds? :) Personally I can't wait til he gets the Olds done.

I also think HMM wrote a great article that captures the story of the car/Ed's passion(obsession?).

Beautiful car, Mike. Deja Vu right back to high school!

Mike, I could not say it better. The man and the machine are both awesome. Pictures do not make Ed's car justice. You really have to see it in person. Attention to detail is what makes his car a great one. As for Ed, he is very approachable who will not hesitate to talk to anyone. Congratulations Ed!!! As for you and your car; you too, fall in the same category as Ed's.

WOW!!!!!! Thanks Guy's!!.. I really don't know what to say! I finally got my Mag in the mail today after two days of AGONY!!! I started to get e-mails and calls about the feature two days ago and had no way of seeing it! (thanks again, Mark)
What a thrill it is to be a small part of what I feel is the BEST car magazine out there. They are really quick too, as this was shot at the Muscle-Palooza at the end of May. Last month was show coverage and this month the resto article, less than two months turn around. Way to go Hemmings!!

Thanks so much guys for all the kind words, it really means alot.

Congrats from me too Ed. Mike, you could at least write Wilkes-Barre the correct way in your post, after all, it's in Pa too. :D

I got my copy yesterday...VERY NICE RIDE!!! It was the first thing I read.

On another note....to all those out there that don't subscribe...This is the best muscle car related magazine out there-PERIOD!

Great layout, great photos, and most importantly GREAT CONTENT!!!! Ed's car is case in point. Yeah, its a few bucks more...but its well worth it. I am going to cancel most of the other car rags i have clogging up my mailbox. HMM is the best.

I recognize the name from being in Super Chevy many years ago. Im thinking it was a red 67 back then, but I could be wrong.

I've been drooling over Ed's '67 for years now. I've got a bunch of pictures of it, the paint and bodywork on this car is incredible. The recent update to the cars look is just the icing on the cake, very cool!

Ed, did you make it down to Maple Grove last weekend? I was there on Saturday, I didn't really make it out to the showfield untill most of the guys were packing it up. I was hooked on watching some drag racing!

Steve

P.S. Does anybody have a link to this magazine? I'm looking for a good mag to subscribe to.

Thanks for the link.

You sell the '67? I see it's no longer in the sig. I was checking out the '66, and this is kind of off subject, but that air cleaner... specifically the decal, have you ever seen another like that? I've seen one just like that, but for a 427 on a '67 vette that happened to be an A.I.R. car as well. I allways just figured it was aftermarket. Yours is the only other I'd ever seen, just seemed curious to me.

Steve, I did sell the '67 about 2 months ago. :( The new owner is going to drive and enjoy it out in Las Vegas. As far as the air cleaner sticker on the '66, it's a mystery. I suspect that the original one got a little funky and in the early 70's, this was all that was available. Probably off the rack at the auto parts store. That's my best guess.

Just about! Got some odds and ends to finish up, working out some mechanical bugs, but it should be ready to go for next year. Congrats on the magazine coverage, thats some bragging rights right there!

Mark, hows that new project coming along?

Congrats ED: Black is beautiful. Looking to find the story. I like the race glaze look. Also I like the photo of Ed and his wife and Dale Earnhart Sr. That is also priceless. Good Luck and again Congratulations
