The fuse on my 70 Chevellle convertible for my blower fan kept blowing. I started replacing components like the ignition switch, fan motor and fan relay. I checked the resister. The fuse still kept blowing. Finally I went into the engine compartment and started looking for any loose wires. I rolled up and secured the wire for the idle speed solinoid and the temperature sensor wire. ( I now have a real temperature gauge that I installed in the clock space on the dash.)
Still no luck.
Then I found it. Twenty-five years ago, at my first engine replacement, the transmission contolled spark solinoid disappeared from the engine. The wires were left wrapped up together. They finally dropped lower and touched the engine block causing the short.
Everything is ok now.
