I looked at the link for the $10 one and it has the Buick interior, mine did not. I wonder if the guy realizes no matter what he sells the car for any lawyer is gonna get full market value out of him.
Dave, yours is missing the V-top, can't be mine either :D
Andy69 Jul 28th, 05, 11:17 PM If I got a divorce and my ex went after my Chevelle, it would get the torch. "Gee, HONEY, it just burst into flames. You know, 36 year old wiring and fuel lines, not to mention the leaky gas tank..."
Mali Blu Jul 29th, 05, 12:09 AM Too bad for him. I would have bought it,then sold it back to him for 10 bucks after his divorce was final.
Women: ya cant live with em,and ya arnt allowed to kill em.
Chris R Jul 29th, 05, 1:44 AM No matter how unreal this may seem. Im thinking BS. Maybe its just a way to make me feel better, but I just cant see someone taking that big of a loss on a car. I think there may be a law against this also when it comes to divorces.

time and again this has happend, i think recently it even happened on e-bay, and i think it was in england. so, once in a while somebody gets a deal, but you can bet the lawyers and judges don't let it get by. judges hate games, and i know from first hand expierience that the fool always pays. i personally worked with a guy who tried this, sold several of his cars to a buddy, during his divorce, the judge had him hire an apraiser (at his cost) to appraise the cars, as we all know, appraisers can be pretty liberal with thier numbers, so this guy got stuck paying his wife quite a bit of $. try standing, straight faced, in front of a judge, and explain why you sold a car for $20 and see what happens. i think you'll find the judge won't have much tolerance for this type of thing...
dittoz Jul 29th, 05, 10:29 AM My sympathies to the guy who can't win in front of a judge... but somebody still got a good looking car for $10 !

Im with blackharley on this one. I've seen it first hand. guys wife cheated and filed for divorce, they had been married 4 mths and all the furniture was his and she never worked during the marriage. her lawyer was going for half of everything so in a fit of rage he took a chainsaw to all the furniture cutting everything in half....the judge didnt see the humor and he was forced to have all the furniture appraised (at his cost) and ended up having to give her around 5 grand for the furniture that he didnt have anymore.
NiteOwlNY Jul 29th, 05, 11:30 AM It took me almost 6 years to get my divorce, in the last 2 years I dumped over 60k into lawyers pockets, I feel his pain.... My ex tried to go after my tools and my guitars, all which I'd owned for many years.... I've been hiding my cars and bikes from her for years and my son is under strict orders not to tell her what I own... It's none of her business....
ROBC Jul 29th, 05, 11:36 AM That is why I beat my wife twice a week, So she knows who the boss is in this house.LOL

If I'm ever married my wife will be signing to make sure my stuff stays mine. Dunno what it is about judges giving everything away

judges don't give everything away, they inforce the laws of the state, that's why some people run to other states to avoid child support. i live in cali, considered one of the worst states for divorce settlements. i kept the house and everything i owned. i didn't even have a lawyer. i sat down and told her, look we can give it all to lawyers or we can split it ourselves. we had a few dissagreements, but we got over it and moved on. best thing to do is not have a lot of debt going into a divorce, sit down, and get over your ego's and act like adults, and always keep going back to the "we can keep it, or give it to lawyers" and things might work out. the horror stories you hear, is because one or both can't keep thier ego in check.
JodysTransmissions Jul 29th, 05, 12:18 PM A Prenup doesn't mean crap.
My first divorce with my '70 Chevelle.........
This car was mine since I was 16 and my Dad's from new. I got married when I was 24, 7 years later we divorced. Well, her lawyer wanted my Chevelle appraised. Guess what, I had to split the value increase difference for those seven years we were married. Oh yeah, and the cut was 60/40, her favor! So, my prenup didn't work!
Regards, Jody
thunderstruck507 Jul 29th, 05, 1:22 PM Ok, we'll try a new one...she'll get a .357 hollow point and I'll drive the car off the biggest cliff I can find while flipping the bird to anyone watching before she gets my car or guitars :D
1BLACKHARLEY Jul 29th, 05, 1:48 PM Do The They Have Cliffs In Oklahoma ? I Had A Friend Tell Me, He Could Watch His Dog Run Away, For Two Days, Now That's Flat....
thunderstruck507 Jul 29th, 05, 2:25 PM There aren't many cliffs...who said I was gonna do it here though :D
There would definately be a high speed chase preceding the finale. Southern Oklahoma and the entire east half of Texas are the 2 lamest places I've ever been. Haven't been west much at all. Seen a lot of the eastern US though.

LMAO- For some reason that just struck me as hilarious!!!
If I end up divorcing, my husband will probably ask for alimony! I'd sell EVERYTHING i owned to some lucky b%$#* for $10, too. I'd rather do that than see my ex drivin' MY Chevelle around town....
