Any one know how much a 66 chevelle 4 door "shell" waights? Shell = no doors, no dash, no interior, Windshild and rear glass still in, no seats, no deck lid, from firewall back.

I'm trying to pick out casters for my Autobody rotisserie. The device waights 350lbs.
I know the equation.
Caster capacity =
Waight of rotisserie + Waight of body shell / 4.
350 + X
------- = Y

Not sure of the actual weight but on my 67 four average guys my self included picked it up and placed it on a trailer with not too much trouble. But we had the glass out of it. I would guess total body weight of the main part would be about six to seven hundred pounds. but that is just a guess. What type of wheels are you planning and what surface are you using it on? On mine I used the pneumatic casters they work good on both hard surfaces and gravel. Hope this helps

yes, that helps alot. I was thinking around 1200lbs or more (which ment the casters would have cost around $40 a pice. thank you very much. I'll probly look for some 6" diam. wheels. I'll be on a concret floor. graemlins/beers.gif
