I am swapping in a 12 bolt posi rearend from a 71 Buick GS. I presently have a 10 bolt posi in my 66 chevelle. I know it will be wider now so I am wondering if anyone out there has done this swap and if so what size tires are they running. My tires have a 4.5 inch backspacing and I am wondering if the 275/60-15s will still fit after the swap?

Honestly, in your previous post (just last week) you wrote:
I presently have 275/60/15 BFG Drag radials on with a 4.5 inch backspacing. Looks to me like I have an inch on the inside of the wheel well and maybe a 1/4 inch on the outside.
Therefore, IF you only have 1/4 inch on the outside, and you install a WIDER rearend (1/2" wider), then you will have NO CLEARANCE (actually a major interference problem)... You will need to get a narrower tire or get different rims...
Unmodified wheelwells on the 66 Chevelle will accomodate 295 tires, BUT the rims must be backspaced properly...
Its a compromise. IF you don't want to modify the wheel wells, yet still run the 275/60/15, then you either have to forget the rearend swap or buy new rims...
It really is that simple...
