I have some rust behind my wheel openings. I'm looking to do the right thing in the repair. Assuming that cost won't be an issue, am I better off replacing the whole fender with a Goodmark, or just welding in a patch panel? I'm trying to think of all the issues that might come up.
If you can find a USED GM fender it may be the cheapest out.
A patch done by a Pro should be butt welded for ~$250.
You have to paint it, or al least epoxy primer.
Last choice, I'd only use a new Goodmark fender.
Memory Lane in Sun Vally Ca. has used fenders in good shape for ~$250. Might even find a color you don't have to have painted right away.
