Was at a cruise yeasterday, and leaving after dark, I turned on the headlights, but they didn't come on (they had worked fine 2 days ago). Pull the switch to first position, drivers side parking lamp comes on, not pass. side. Pull all the way out, all front lights go out. Turn signals work, and the tail lights work as they should. Replaced the switch, same thing. Dash lights and dome work properly.
Any ideas on how to track this down?

somehow got on wrong forum. Found the answer with a search of the archives - dimmer switch! Whodathunkit!
