I'm fixing a fairly large hole in my trunk pan. I know I should be welding, but the work must go on. The hole lies atop the body frame. Can I paint the frame with POR 15, scuff with rough sandpaper, and then expect fibreglass to adhere to it as I patch the hole. Or is the saying true, "Nothing sticks to this stuff".

I doubt that you will have much luck getting the fiberglass matting to stick. It's tough enough to get normal paint/primer to stick to POR. You can embed the fiberglass matting in the POR though.

I've had bad luck with the POR sticking to filler of any kind. You can top coat the POR with a good coat of urethane primer and use plastic filler on that. Don't fill a hole w/ glass then expect POR to stick to it either.

What you should do is order their floor pan repair kit, or their fibermesh cloth. You apply it by first removing all the loose rust and paint in the repair area and then painting the area with silver Por 15. Put it on heavy but don't puddle it. You lay the fibermesh cloth in the freshly painted Por and then saturate the cloth with another coat of Por. If it's a large hole, you may need to tape the back of the hole with masking tape or duct tape to keep the cloth from sagging. When the cloth has hardened, you can smooth it out by spreading a layer of Por putty over the repair.
