Hey guys, rebuilding my first holley and this fell out of the front float bowl when i finally got it off. What is it? Where does it go, and is it supposed to be there? Its about an 1.5 inches long about about .25 inches wide. Thanks!

Goes on the top of the plate between the carb base and float bowl. Ther are two pins it fits on. Maybe someone has a picture.

It is a splash shield (or splash deflector). Essentially, it is a baffle. Its purpose is to deflect sloshing gasoline in the float bowl from coming out the bowl vent (that little tube sticking up from the top of the carb). Put it back in, it will only go one way.
