I recently painted my 72SS and I am now in the process of putting it back together. My question is on the molding above the door and quarter glass had a type of black foam rubber between the body and the molding about 1/16" thick. What should I use now that I have cleaned it all off ?? Would a putty tape be ok ?? Or where can I find foam rubber that thin ?
Thanks for your help.

Try 3m's double sided foam tape. It's about 1/16" thick, and I've bought it in white, grey, black.

But it is very sticky on both sides, so I'm not sure if it will work for what you want.

I used camper shell mounting tape on mine. Its only sticky on one side. I stuck it to the roofrail weatherstrip channel first, and then trimmed it to the correct width. It worked great. You can get it at just about any auto parts store. Hope this helps, Dennis
I tought it sould be stickey on both sides?
I know I had a heck of a time getting my roofrail off the car.
