Was wondering how it came out, and how bad the area around your back window was. I have a 69 Maliibu that was purchased in the Bronx and spent all it's life either in NY or Conneticut before it came to me. That being said the bottom of the car is gross. Anyway.....being a Malibu I don't see paying for NOS 1/4s.

another user 70_chevelle did- here's a link to his website, I think he replaced full quarters on both sides. He has a ton of the bodywork photos, but it is kind of hard to navigate.

Yenko heres my advice on the deal. My understanding is that the sail panel is rusted out up around the rear window right? Plus the quarter needs to replaced correct? I dont know your skills on body work but basically you are looking at making two patch panels for the repair. One being the quarter skin and the other being a home made job due to that no one makes such a panel for the sail. The amount of labor invloved in replacing a skin is alot to properly do it. The only way I would so such a repair is with the butt weld. If you look at the pics of 70isfine he shows teh way I would replace a skin, good pics to see how it is done. The amount of time and skill needed to replace those skins out weighs the amount of money for NOS quarters. Plus you need a patch up around the rear window. Just think of the amount of mud, time and headaches involved. In the end all you got is a patched up POS. By far not the lasting or best repair.
I understand that NOS quarters are a bit high just got a pair 1800 bucks but the car they are for need the same repair as yours. In the long run that 1800 bucks was much cheaper then patching it up. Plus am happier cause I made the better repair with new quarters and the customer is happy cause its cheaper.
The way I see it is spend the money now for NOS or spend it again later only to fix the problems that are now coming back to haunt you because you patched it...Eric

My car has had both 1/4's (http://chevelles.com/showroom/mild68ss/stripped.jpg)replaced. The area around the back window was really pretty good. The car was from the Indy area.
It turned out nice (http://chevelles.com/showroom/mild68ss/rtside17nns.jpg)

Hey hey, now that looks AWESOME!!!! Just what I needed to see. My rear area is in the same shape. Also, what color is your car? I like it. The top makes me want to put mine back on when it's finished.

Check out my page. The link is in my signature. I did both 1/4"s and all the way around the rear window. Goto the bodywork page from my homepage.
