My new motor is going in this week! WooHoo! The guy I bought the car and motor from gave me the general specs on it, but my guy wants more detailed info if possible. The block is a 1999 350 block with a 327 crank setup in it. I went to the body shop today to talk to my guy..he made me an offer that to me, is a real testiment to his oppinion of the 327 build:

He has a Pat Musi 502 big block BUILT pushing close to 1000hp. He was Pat's partner not long ago. It's in an early ElCamino, that absolutely screams. The thing pulls the wheels off the ground. Anyway, the owner of the chevelle decided not to do the 502 so it's "available" My guy offered to put the 502 in the Malibu if I would trade him the 327 and $1K. He said that 327 is an amazing motor.

I have no need for the 502 as I'm driving this car every day, but the fact that he even considers an offer like that says what he thinks of the 327!

Anyway, I digress. The cam in the 327 is said to be a "stock roller cam out of a late (1999 I think) 350. I need the specs on that cam.

Thanks all.

If its a Vortec roller cam, the lift is around .413 intake and exhaust. The other specs are in a the shop manual. GM does not list durations @.050 like the aftermarket does, and if I remember correctly, the specs are metric and have to be converted to be more easily understood.

Will this site help??

http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Downs/3000/cmspec.html

I don't know if it will or not b/c I'm not into the newer stuff as much as the older motors and I pretty much know them off the top of my head..

Depends on which vehicle the engine was installed in. If it was an earlier Camaro or Firebird:
Lift .414 int, .431 exh; duration @ .050" 207 deg int, 214 deg exh; lobe centers 116 deg int, 118 deg exh.

Pass car cam:
Lift .351 int, .386 exh; duration @ .050" 179 deg int, 195 deg exh; lobe centers 106 deg int, 112 deg exh.

Truck cam:
Lift .414 int, .428 exh; duration @ .050" 191 deg int, 194 deg exh; lobe centers 106 deg int, 116 deg exh.
