I upgraded the system in the wagon to R134A. When I was testing the system the compressor would not kick in. It would kick in prior to the converting. I followed the instructions which stated to run the vehicle for 3 minutes and then charge the system. I am assuming that I blew the thermal limiter switch. I double-checked all the wires and cleaned up a frayed ground but still no compressor. When using an ohm meter to test I am getting a short across the S to C terminals. Does this mean it is bad? I plan on picking up a new switch tomorrow. Any thoughts?

frankf72malibu,
Go to www.ackits.com and click on Auto A/C Forum. Tons of info there. Also a Texas resident, just a little to the west of Richardson, in Lewisville area.

Brimac,
Nice to know a fellow Chevelle/Elco guy is so close by. I did try www.ackits.com and only found 1 post. I tried several searches. Anyways, I am going to pick up a new switch tomorrow, they are only $2.29 according to O'reilly's website. Thanks for the help. I have been talking to a few other local guys and we are working on meeting at a Sonic or something. Would you be interested in joining in?
