: Any other young muscle car guys?

1971 Chevelle
Jul 18th, 05, 7:30 PM
I was just reading the post about muscle cars and their future. A lot of guys said that young guys just don't have interest in them.

I guess I am not the norm, I love my 71 Chevelle. I also listen to classic rock instead of rap. I have gotten some of my friends interested in these cars. They now realize that a small block chevy with a cam in it is much better sounding then a Honda that sounds like swarming bees.

Sure there have been weekends where I couldn't go out on dates because I was spending all my time and money rebuilding front ends or motors, but I wouldn't want any different. Some may call it a money pit but to me having the tires bark in second gear or hearing that four barrel are worth it.

Any other 18 year olds or young guys with me.

Well, I was 17 when I bought my 70 back in Feb. of 1998. I am now 25 and have 2 restored chevelles and a 69 Charger. There are plenty of other guys here in the under 30 category

We are rare, man. 22 years old myself, absolutely NO rap, or honda cars that sound like weed whackers, or wearing my hat sideways. Im still living in the 70's even though i was born in '83! My velle is my time machine. I dont need a double-deckered wing honda car to pick up chicks. The velle gets plenty of attention.
Chevelles, classic rock, guitars, and babes please me just fine!

I bought my car when i was 17 but i am 24 now. I guess i still fall into the young guys section. Been on the road almost the entire time except for a 9 month hiatous when the tranny blew up and i swapped to a manual. I was not alone in high school but was with a small group of people who liked cars. I met up with another when i had my second job, and he had a whole group of people that were into old cars so we got a pretty good following now. Got a girlfriend who is into old classics and we sold her saturn for a 64 suburban. That was driven daily until the rear end blew up on it so it sits in the garage awaiting some new gears. It is easy to get people hooked just take em for a spin. Unless they are mechanically challenged they won't want these types of cars. Got a new neighbor that is 26 that just bought a 78 camaro that has a sweet 383 in it, he is just learning and i am teaching him what i know. Just waiting to go to the track with a couple of these guys/gals and have a blast but it always seems one of these cars is broken.

My son is 8 and the 69 I have is his. It's a rolling chassis right now but that will change. Whenever I mention maybe selling it he talks me out of it. Hopefully he will be part of teh future of this club and the love of classic muscle cars.

I'm 26, that close enough? I've had my '67 since I was about 16. It's been coming along slowly ever since. I've never been big into the newer import scene, probably since I can't fit into the cars. I barely fit into the Chevelle as it is. I like my cars with at least a little bit of room! :)

So would I be considered more 'normal' because I happen to listen to 'rap' music and drive a Chevelle? Does electronic score me another point in that area? I'm 19 and I've had my Chevelle since I was 16. Too many fun times to list in that car, and I feel priviledged to have been able to own/drive a piece of American muscle/history. None of my friends will have anything to do with automotive technology, but they still love taking a ride in my Chevelle, and it gives me a great feeling.

By the way, when I say 'rap' and 'electronic' I'm talking about independent artists....none of it is heard on the radio. Check Definitive Jux, Merck, and Toytronic for a few examples. Hip hop culture was a great thing at one time, but the mass media has killed it for us who stay true to the elements of it.

I'm young, and I love the early 60's to very low 70s cars, as well as a large number of other older cars!
Most people I know are into mustangs, 90s era, cheap, easy to make sorta fast, etc.
Can't blame them, but I have had a # of them w/ much much faster cars say they'd trade any day. Its a situational thing I think.
The only reason I got into muscle cars was because my dads classic car was destroyed in an arson fire that killed about 15 other cars. Wood barn w/ cloth wires.. everything was just about reduced to piles of steel & glass..

well, Im 20 myself(21 in november) and have always been into muscle. Dad had a 70 boss 302, and a 69 GTO 455. Got the velle when I was 18. Although I must admit I have some friends with some rather quick "Rice" (13.8 Integra) I just cant get away from the sound and feel of a well tuned V8.

Personally, cant stand rap...Listen to rock...and ever so often can get into smooth jazz. My fav band in SEVENDUST!!! Also like Godmack, Korn, and alot of Seattle grunge( Nirvana...and a big fan of Soundgarden. Also can get into classic rock like Zepplin and rush..Pink floids good too!

As for my car, usual 350/TH350 soon to be 454/TH400. My girl got me a bumper sticker for the front windshield that says "Eatin rice"..dont think Ill put it on though..hehe..might **** off a few friends...

im 16 and i have a 66 malibu, my mom says i put too much money in it but i save a-lot of money my doing stuff myself the only thing i haven't done myself it get the piston's pressed to the rods. i even learned to paint on it. turned out good for my first time painting. it's kind of funny when my friend comes over in his little toyota celica and revs the motor and then the look on his face when i crank the chevelle up with open headers.

There are a bunch of younger guys out there.

I got my '72 in my mid to late 20's (only 31 now), and my younger brother got his '70 when he was 20.

I still consider myself a 'young guy' ;-)

I agree...I may be getting older but I refuse to grow up! I thought about selling the '68 ragtop last year and my son, who was 14 at the time, informed my that there was no way that I was going to sell HIS car. That really made my day. He's pretty rare like the rest of you young guys. He plays the guitar in a band he formed(hates rap), loves all old muscle cars and fenderless hot rods. He proudly tells everyone that the first car he ever drove was a big-block Chevelle. That says it all.

I was 19 when I got my 70, back in 1996. I got it for 3700.00. Since then it's been all over this beautiful country with me. I was 24 when I owned 4 chevelles. My kids will own musclecars as well. Three of my four kids are boys who are very interested in helping daddy work on the hotrod. So I'm doing my part to help raise the hotrodders who will carry the torch through 2040. Oh, and my daughter will most likely have one as well.

My wife who is 25 will be owning another very soon.

Well its not exactly a muscle car "guy" thing. But I have a 71 chevelle convertable that I'm rebuilding for/with my 14 year old daughter. It will be her car when she's 16 and it was picked out by her. We started out looking for a 60's caddy and while looking online we saw a chevelle convert. and she had to have one.

My 12yr old daughter wants a 74-81 z28 or TA and we've already started looking. Its going to have to be in much better shape because I'll only have a year to complete it.

My son wants a 70-80's porsche 911 but he's only 6 so we'll see. I had a 79 930 and he loved that car. The girls however hated it unless I was taking them to school in it.

I'll be 22 in August. I've had a Chevelle since I was 17. I've never driven one though, as my projects always seem to have to be strung out over a long period of time, due to either a lack of funds, time, or a family emergency.

I know one day I'll have the bitchin'-est Chevelle known to man. So that thought keeps me going :D

I'm 22 and still own 4 of the 6 Chevelle's I've had :)

I bought my '69 SS when I was 12, and have still never driven it under its own power.

I bought my '69 Malibu when I was 15, and did a resto on it while in H.S. finished when I was 18.

The rest have either been sold, or are currently for sale. The 2 69s will never be sold. :)

I purchased my first Chevelle when i was 16 Going on 12 years ago now. I have had several cars since then but still have my Chevelle plus other cars. The car has been totally gone through since I have had it, I picked it up as barely a roller. Now the car is "almost done" and only gets driven on nice days. Most of my buddies have classics also but no where as long as I have had the classics.

I just miss the under 30 bracket since I turned 31 earlier this year. But I did buy my 67 at the age of 13 and got it back on the road for the first time this summer since high school. What a joy!!! Anyways, family and I went for a short cruise last night and my oldest boy (age 7) was begging for my to do a burnout and my littlest one (age 1) always gets a big smile when I get on it. Good potential for future muscle car drivers.

He is forever coming home and telling me about the El Caminos, the Camaros and the Chevelles he sees beating h*** out of the wet-fart Hondas.

I bought mine when I turned 16, not going anywhere soon. I'm 20 now and drive the car daily.

Most real hot rodders I know go for the older cars or the LS1 Fbodies and late model mustangs. I have never seen an import in person that could hit 14s on a good day. I know they exist, but I haven't run into one yet.

I also despise rap, unless its something funny ("Fett's Vette" by MC Chris details Boba Fett from star wars financing a Corvette :) )

Nothing like "Hell's Bells" blasting through the Cd player over the roar of a first gear kickdown from 30 mph.

I bought my 70 chevelle when I was 19 and I'm 24 now. I drive my chevelle as much as possible with gas prices the way they are, but I won't get rid of my 454 no matter how much gas prices go up. I like driving it to college and parking next to some ricer so he can hear my dual 3" exhaust. Setting off car alarms with my exhaust is fun too, even my dad thought it was funny when I took him for a ride. I wish I could of had a chevelle in high school but I just couldn't find one in a small town, plus one that was decently priced. Oh well got one now, and a website with some vids of me driving it and doing a couple burnouts.

I'm 22, have had my 69 Cutlass since I was 16. I now drive an 83 Monte, for fun, and a 350 Olds powered 87 Caprice everyday. I almost bought a 65 Chevelle 300, but got the Monte instead. I'm in love with the 64-65 A-bodies though, so as soon as I find a good restore candidate I'm going to get on it.

As far as I go, as long as it's v-8, rear wheel drive, sounds good, and will get up and go, it's fine by me.

My wife says I act like I'm 12, so I guess I qualify.

I've been into muscle cars since high school actually, and am 37 now and still into it.

The standard "Sucks" disclaimer applies though:

When you're in high school, you have tons of time and no money. When you're older, you have the opposite.

Oh well, it could be worse :)

FWIW, there's a good number of younger guys and girls in the local car scene here, ages range from 16 to really-friggin-old.

I see that most of you are hands on, working on your cars. You probably already know more about your cars than 95% of the people out there. My son learned to be hands on with his cars. Learned a lot in the process of turning a six cylinder Chevelle into a 454, turbo 400, 12 bolt musclecar. It's surprising at how many either buy their cars finished or pay someone to do them. It was the same in the old days. Most people bought their muscle cars and drove them to a garage for anything that needed to be done. Over the years, working hands on, I've learned enough to do everything but the paint. Putting in a proper paint booth isn't feasible for me and most amateur paint jobs are obvious. It does take a lot of practice. Nothing like the sound of a healthy V8. I'm looking at swapping a late model LT1 into a '69 el Camino. Should get some gas mileage and have some decent performance too. Oh, and I'm 59 going on 23 when I get behind the wheel of our cars. Haven't been without a musclecar since 1967. Hope it is still like this for you guys 40 years from now. Keep up the good work.

yes you cannot beat the styling and sound of a good old American car or truck. i just picked up my new project last week.. a 1978 GMC long bed, that im restoring, and i have the chevelle as my daily driver. i hope the truck is done by graduation of this year so i can take it to it all muddy. ah yes i am 17 as well.

idk if anybody said this before... but real cars (or trucks) are built... not bought.

I got my chevelle when i was 14!!! Now i'm 16. LOL, it didn't run and the guy just had to get arid of it! So i FINALLY talked my dad into taking me to see it (i had secretly been walking there for like a month bugging the guy with questions!!) and my dad said it reminded him of highschool and that he liked it. But he said there was NO WAY he was going to buy it! So, we are driving it home on a tow truck and he said, "You are getting a job and paying me back!!!(secretly i think he was kinda proud that i wanted something i had to work at to get it running! Plus, now that it runs and everything, he loves telling the people at his work the story of how HIS 14 YEAR OLD got the car running without any real help!!LOL)" Well, that was two years ago and now it is my daily driver!! I paid him back by helping my grandparents with estate investments (aka destruction, construction, remodeling, then selling!! LOL). My car is my baby! LOL, and hey, unlike some of you, I GET TO DRIVE IT EVERYDAY!!!!.....Well, except for when it's broken!? Oh, and as far as working on it goes, it is official, i know where every bolt an screw is, how everything goes together!!! I learned the quick way!! I took it to a shop one day cause the cross member had rusted through so i needed a new one and THEY WANTED LIKE $1000!!!! So, from that day on, i've done all the work myself!!! Well.....i took it to another shop cause i was affraid of the wiring but i ended up doing it myself anyway!!!! LOL, ugh, i LOVE these cars!!!!! The only problem is, of course, money!!! I made a deal with my parents that every other paycheck can go towards the car!? BUT THAT ISN'T ENOUGH!!!! LOL, well, i hope this showed that there are A FEW lights at the end of the tunnel!! Later!
Ryan

P.s. I also always say what everbody does, "I will never sell my car, it's my baby" That is true but i also know reality doesn't always allow for stupid hopes so, just in case, i got "Chevelle" engraved in my class ring to symbolize the good times if that unfortunate event ever arises!!! LOL

I don’t think that I’m even allowed to post on this thread, but I have been into Chevelles since I rode tricycles. I remember Beaumonts as new cars! (last manufactured in 1969). My grade 2 teacher drove a brand new LS6 in the spring of 1970, and my principal drove a brand new ’71 base Chevelle in ’71 (supplanted with a new ’74 Malibu Classic in ’74). I don’t especially like rap, but after a really nasty day I drove home listening to Heather B. You should have seen the sneers from people driving other cars! I felt like a teenager! I was driving a Corolla GT-S at the time (I really do miss it) but I have been into Chevelle for a long time. I have owned my ’67 for 20 years and have been a fan since the sixties. Before I wrote off my beloved Corolla GT-S (my 1st new car) I used to hang out with the Toyotanation crowd. Surprisingly (and encouragingly) a few were into the North American muscle. At 43 I feel little weird in that I refuse to grow up. One guy in my neighborhood owns a really nice 1980 Trans-Am with original paint. He was born in 1976. I told him what I was doing in 1976 (listening to Wild Cherry and Thin Lizzy while dreaming of ‘scoring’). I gave him my 1980 Pontiac brochure that I got at Corfe Pontiac Buick Cadillac in 1980 and he really appreciated it. I thought I felt old until I met an original owner of a ’67 Beaumont Sport Deluxe (man do I want his car!). It is nice to see that a few young-uns appreciate the difference between a loud late model car and a vintage car that makes noise for a valid reason.! One high school associate bought a COPO Chevelle in late ’79 (my 1st intro to the COPO Chevelles). I still have the old Auto Trader ad from ’79 (http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/Cam/PaulsCOPO.jpg).

I had no idea you were a young guy. Let me know if you need any more help with that 68. Thats my year!

That is what I like about this board, no one can judge you based on your age. Or by looking at you and thinking thinking we don't know what we are talking about.

Me? LOL, actually i have a 71...hmmm, forgot to mention that in there!? LOL, i guess i got carried away! Yea, and the age thing has always been a factor!! U think shops rip people off, trying walking in as a 16 year old!! LOL, thats why i like it here, i can learn and help and people are none the wiser!! LOL. I've been into helping people (and getting help) since before i got my baby cause i always dreamed and so i study the things night and day!! Umm, yea, while i'm in this forum, how do i set up a signature or whatever!? I want to put a link to some pics of my car, it isn't the greatest but its my daily driver project car!? Thanks!

One high school associate bought a COPO Chevelle in late ’79 (my 1st intro to the COPO Chevelles). I still have the old Auto Trader ad from ’79 (http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/Cam/PaulsCOPO.jpg).

cars today have no personality, no character, their A to B cars.

Classics have personality, character and parts dont cost a lot.

I've had my 70 Chevelle for the last 5 years and enjoyed every minute of it. Just a few days ago i finally bought my next dream car, a 71 RS/SS Camaro, silver w/black stripes. I just cant see myself in a new car even though i use to own a 96 Firebird Formula/LT1/T56, i miss that car a lot.

Oh BTW i just turned 30.

Classic Rock, 32oz Coke in one hand, steering wheel in the other, cruising down the backroads on a beautiful day doesnt get any better than that.

I was 14 when I got my 70 chevelle. 15 when I started working at an auto shop. Now I'm 18 and restored my 68 Malibu, man by the time i'm 30, I don't even want to think about that. ITs cool to see all these other youngins keeping the muscle car pasttime alive. Rock on Rosie, girls with chevelles are awosome. Nice car by the way.

I was into muscle cars when I was in grade school, middle school and even high school. Growing up my dad owned a '71 Nova that was a former 307 car until he dropped in a 350. Then later on he bought a '68 Camaro SS for $1500 (back in '83 :D) with the 400 sbc/M22/12 bolt (original 396 car) and restored it in '84 and '85....he still has it today.

I didn't get my first real classic until 2000, it was a '69 Nova my dad restored back in '90. I told him right then and there (in '90 at age 12) I'd like to own it one day. Then 10 years later I finally got it and will always own it.

Then in 2001 I bought a '71 Nova 350/4 speed but had to sell it a month later due to financial reasons. Man I miss that car.

After that I almost bought a 70 Chevelle but I wasn't able to get the loan in time and someone else got it.

Then I bought an S-10 with a 350 in it....fun little truck that held it's own against most.

One day I saw a '68 Chevelle on ebay 10 minutes from my house...it was a 327/PG car....nothing fancy. I went and saw it, drove it, told the guy I'd go the next day to get the loan (this was on a Sunday afternoon) but when I came back that next day some schmuck from Missouri done wired him some $$ to hold it, yet I was standing there holding the $$.

Then I found my Chevelle in 2004. I sold the S-10 the next year to fund building the engine. I'm tempted to go buy it back.

Now I'm wanting to get me an LS-1 Camaro/Firebird. I'm also wanting to build another big block for the Chevelle.....and I'm also wanting to build a 400 sbc for my Buick Regal. Problem is I'm having a heck of a time deciding which to do....obviously I can't all of them. :(

With gas prices being as high as they are I had considered an SRT-4 though I'm more of a V8 RWD guy....the SRT-4 looks like a nice little performer while maintaining good gas mileage.

I wasn't around during the muscle car craze but I've always been partial to them. I've not really been much for the FWD cars.

21 now, bought the '70 as a father/son project which is turning into more of a son/son's friend's project. but that's ok. my dad has plenty of other "body work" to do (he's a surgeon).
never really was a muscle car person until my buddy bought his '79 Camaro and started tuning the thing up (and pulling the engine, etc) and i was over there helping him. i didn't know jack about most of the stuff, but i'm learning. and i'm in the autobody program at college so i'm learning all sorts of stuff there too.
i've got great hopes and plans for the car, now it's just the money that is the big problem. i'm constantly looking at pictures and finding things that i like that i want to do to mine - which, usually end up making the "projected" cost keep rising. a big money saver will be that i'm going to be painting the thing myself. but it will definitely be an experience that i won't forget.

I'm 25 and just bought my 69 about a month ago. I've wanted one ever since I was 14 and I first started getting into cars. I got a subscription to Hot Rod and saw a 69 in there, first time I had ever even seen a Chevelle, and I fell in love at first site, lmao. I bought a 68 at 15 but it needed a lot of work and I ended up selling it to buy a truck to drive. It's taken me 10 years to get a Chevelle again, this one's going nowhere.

I love old cars, and new hot rods too. I'm planning an LS1 swap in my Chevelle right now. Hope to have it done by November. Always wanted a modern engine in a old car. I can't wait.

I work for Honda and drive a Accord daily for gas mileage but I am also building a 1972 CHEVELLE SS!!! Nothing can replace the sound of the old muscle cars and I laugh when i see 95% of the imports out there that think there fast due to thefact I have worked on some and there all screwed up from someone trying to do a engine swap!!! If your gonna build something least take time to read up,ask etc before you actually do it!!!

I've wanted a project car ever since i could remember. When I was little my dad restored a 1978 MGB that's been in the family for awhile (4spd, non posi, manual brakes, manual steering, what i learned to drive stick in many a year later :D) Ever since then i wanted my first car to be a car me and my dad worked on together. My neighbor had a 72 chevelle and I remember at one time looking at it, and how big of a mess it was and saying "i dont want this car" before i knew anything about it. WHen I was 16 i was working at my uncles in virginia (live in jersey) for hte summer and my parents were down to visit. Me and my dad were out back talking about cars and stuff and he was like "are you sure your up for hte project, its a lot of money, lot of time, its not all fun" and i was like "yeah", he said "well i pick up the car tomorrow"

Many of you have seen the pics of it, i paid 3750 for it, a hell of a deal, now i have about 10k into it and counting but every cent is worth it, and i can look at the car and see where the money went. Ask my brother what he has spent all his money on the last 5 years and he wouldn't be able to tell you, where I can start listing parts in the order I got them and what they helped.

I'm like all the other young guys here, would rather blast some rock over rap anyday, drive my chevelle daily, i've had it out in 5 inches of snow to get to work to pay for the parts I'm putting on it, and would rather drive a muscle car over an import anyday.

I've got friends with 13 second imports that have gone for a ride in my car and couldn't believe what 400+ ft/lbs of torque feels like, I let my sister drive it once, she said "your car is so much fun to drive" but also it let her realize how its a hastle at the same time.

If half these import guys would only get behind the wheel of a car like ours once they would see the light..I'm proud to be one of few my age, but glad to see so many others on this forum

I'm not 30 for a few more months so I guess I qualify as young.

I have always loved muscle cars, but I grew up around Big Block Chevys making loud growls on the lawn. I always knew I wanted a Chevelle, but ti took me years and years for the right moment to come along. Me totalling my Grand Cherokee just happened to be that moment.

Im a ltitle older than you guys but my first car was a 67 rs CamEro:p . That was back in the late 80s when everyone my age was buildig minitrucks or 5.0 GTs.
Slammed, meats all the way around, dark grey primered, overcammed 327, M22, cowl hood (flat black). Unreliable as hell and I loved that thing!! Followd up a few cars later with a 68 SS Chevelle clone that eventually made it to HRM in the early 90's . Finally calling it quits after car #40. Get one you like and stick with it.

Good to see you guys taking an interest in American Iron!

23 here and have two chevelles. I first saw the black '70 in dazed and confused back in 94-95 or so and wanted one ever since! got my 68 in '02 and 69 in '04.
no imports for me, even during high school when everyone was driving them i wasnt interested...maybe it was the fact that the ones that drove them were genuine d***heads and they always boxed my 87 s-10 in where i parked. I asked them nicely to not box me in and they just scoffed some profanity at me... a few weeks later when I wouldnt be of suspicion I used one of their fart can mufflers as a step stool... I saw them driving later draging their exhaust 'system'. That was a good feeling.

i remember the first time i ever saw a chevelle it was a 69 ss maroon with a 396 bb i was 12 and my mom was looking at this little car dealership for a minivan and i was like hey lets get that thats awsome but it deffinetly wasnt for sale. the guy who owned it also had a 70 him and his wife both had them and they ran a garage / used car lot but it was usually just cars from police auctions and that day i turned to my mother and i told her that that vehicle was the most beutiful thing i had ever seen and some day i would own one... i baught my first chevelle which i still have at 19 after owning a buick as my first car a f_ _ d ranger, i beat the turd outa that thing what a pos no heater in winter.... and i had a 91 chevy silverado for a while that i paid 3500 for drove for a year got hit by some girl who was playing with her radio and since she didnt have insurance we settled on the side cuz im a nice guy total came to 4500 and i got to keep the truck which still ran just lots of body work needed so i jumped on the oppertunity and picked up the car of my dreams or atleast it will be anyway. i will do all that is in my power to keep this hobby/ sport around because i truly love these cars to me they show a pation that is gone and an american spirit that will hopefully someday return. plus nothing is cooler than a muscle car... well hot girls who love them to is also pretty cool

Can't wait to drive her, I'm jealous of you guys that get to drive yours. On another note, A lot of you say you will never sell your vells. I had a 68 camaro that me and my dad restored together, I learned everything from him, anyways he passed away about 5 years ago and left some medical bills that insurance said they wouldn't cover cause of some crap, I dunno, so my mom didn't have enough to pay so I sold my camaro to help pay the bills. Well the 71 was my Mom's car, so it was really hard to sell it for the 68... Sometimes I wish I would have kept it... The only reason I sold it was because I was selling it to my Dad who "Wanted a project car for his blown chevy 302 to go into"... But he ended up selling it for 2.5x what I sold it to him for... Pissed me off big time because if he was ever going to sell it I was to get it back! If my Dad wouldn't have bought it, I wouldn't have sold it, and I wouldn't have the 68. I gave him a hell of a deal because he's my dad, and I wanted to see that 302 go into something... What's he do? Turn around and sell it for more... Stupid!!!

So is it only teenagers and 20-somethings that qualify for this topic? :D

I'm 33. I definitely don't feel "old". Got my first muscle car when I was 16 -- a '70 Camaro Z/28 RS. I've never been into foreign cars, and at my high school I went to (in the South), neither were most of the others teenagers. My buddies drove cars like Barracudas, Chevelles, Camaros, etc -- or they drove trucks ... mostly late 70's Ford Rangers with long beds, lots of chrome and plenty of HP.

I got my Chevelle when I was 29 and my Monte Carlo when I was 31. Took me a little while to get to the point where I could start buyin' 'em again. Guess that's something to be said for gettin' "older".

Wow! Just read thru all the replys. I'm impressed. Some of these guys got Chevelles at 14-17 years old! Some had a few of them by the time they were 20. And a lot of them hate rap too. There is hope for the future!
Great job young (under 30) Chevelle owners. Keep kickin ricer a$$!

My oldest son (11 years old) was in love with my 99 SS Camaro until we bought the 72 Chevelle. Right after I bought it I had a guy make me an offer on it and I was considering selling it to him. My son was totally hart broke. The guy jerked me around for 2 weeks and never did come up with any cash. The day I told the guy he had 48hrs to come up with the cash or the car is no longer for sale, he had a big smile and said he's not going to come up the cash is he. I said no I don't think he's going to show. Then he said that's good dad I want that car.

Im twenty now and have been putting money away for a car since I was about eight. Iv had about 5 cars ranging from mitsubishis toyotas a neon and an 88 benz, just recently I just sold my eclipse GST and bought my 68 chevelle ss I got that an 05 kawi zx636 and my 94 commuter car corolla. I miss building on the turbo eclipse, it was towed home when I bought it so I had to put a lot of work into it. I love my chevelle though, everyone does. wouldnt trade it for nothing right now.

haha, the L65's do suck. It's the heads, throw in a nice cam and good set of heads, and the L65 is awesome.

Ripe old age of 19 here.

Well I don't own a Chevelle yet, but I do get to drive a '70 Super Sport every day. I used to drive an '89 Cressida. But I will never own a rice burner.

 with a straight pipe exhuast a cherry bomb glasspack it has a decent enough muscle car sound IMO, but man, my moms 3.6 litre V6 minivan can completely destroy mine:sad: lol

25 Here.

Started playing with LSx motors at 17, and was playing with SBC motors at 15.

No one in my family has ever owned an imported car, unless you count my 05 GTO.
