Just bought a '71 Sprint SP and am beginning the body work. What is the gauge and alloy specs of the sheet metal on the quarter panels? (Went to buy some sheet metal to start repairing some rust spots and didn't know I had so many choices!)

Also am considering putting in a full sail quarter on one side, depending on what I find lurking under what is left of the paint. Have experience with torch welding (on farm equipment) and switching to a new MIG for this sheet metal work. Would installing the full sail quarter be "stretching" it a little for my first time with a MIG? Have learned to cut and shape metal pretty cleanly over the years on the farm but those full quarters are big, bulky and expect them to be difficult to manipulate and keep steady to get "tacked" into place.

Your comments and experiences are much welcomed. Thanks for having this board for us newbies. Have learned a bunch by perusing the other threads.

I'm installing a set of full 1/4's on my chevelle, if you got some experience and faith in yourself, you can do it. It depend's on you and your tool's, if you think that you can do it, you probably can. Good luck, Dave.
