seems to be coming down a bit!! I guess it's due to the lack of demand, as all the older cars that used it are disappearing. Good news for us who stuck with it. I just had my system topped off and only paid $50 a lb. for it, what a deal! :D The guy I go to for AC repair says he has an ample supply, too! How have you guys who converted been making out with your systems? Have they held up??

my system is leaking so I've been afraid to dump that into it until i can find the source of leakage...

what about the "Freeze 12" stuff, anyone had luck with it?

we have R12 but I don't want to waste it, i was thinking of the freeze 12 to find the leak or if it works well just use it

Haven't tried it but I've used a refrigerant called "Hotshot" (forgot the number now) it is a direct drop-in that works OK but it can't be topped off.
When some leaks out, you have to evacuate and start over.

I've still got a couple of small cans. Neighbor has some too, but he's not really a car guy, just an elderly gentleman who used to give his cars a shot when they needed. He has a few cans, and the can tapper, too. I just borrow the tapper when I need it.

We converted one car to 134, need to fill it every year.
I have a few cans of R12, leak detector and a tapper left over from the good ol' days. Had them on eBay but they pulled it , said I didn't word the legal stuff right (well, yeah! That's 'casue I copied it out of someone elses ad that sounded correct).
