I bought a door for my 66 at a meet 2 weeks ago that I plan on painting. The door is solid, no dents or rust at all. I sanded it so I could prime and paint it but there are 3 areas about the size of a quarter where I had to take it down to bare metal to get some deep nicks and scratches out. I know if I paint it like this they'll show even though I can't feel them. What do I do?
I don't want to take it to bare metal.
I have self leveling primer at work would that be the best thing?
I also have this filler called dyna glaze which is real easy to use.
Are any of these ideas good? If you have a better one please help.

If the paint on the door isn't too thick and/or you didn't dig a "crater" to get the nicks out, just primer will do it.

I am not sure what you mean by "self leveling" primer. Is it a two part urethane or something? Or is it a lacquer without a hardener?
