Got the motor back last week and installed. Heres the specs
454 .030 over
Square decked
Balanced
TRW 10:1
Double roller chain
ARP Bolts everywhere
Oval port 292 heads fully redone hardened seats, teflon seals.
Camshaft PBM 544-570 lift 300-310 adv duration. Mechanical cam

?? is, After break in which was done with the inner springs left out cam has very little lope at all. I'm REALLY surprised by this with the duration.
Any ideas. Brand new cam, shop installed it with out my permission straight up. Wondering if maybe they dropped the wrong cam in. Don't know without pulling the cover to check.

You would think it would have some roughness to it. What is the LSA on the cam? Maybe it was ground on 114 or so?? They idle smoother.

what about duration at .050 as well? Wonder if the lash is too loose? Post the duration at .050 and the other specs, check the lash once its warmed up, change the oil and cut open the filter and look for metal to make sure the cam isnt wiping, check the initial timing, and are those pistons definitely making 10:1 comp with your combustion chambers? If it still doesnt make sense after you check out some stuff, check to make sure they didnt swap cams on ya. Oh yeah, whats the idle rpm and check the vacuum if youve got a guage.
