I recently bought a '65 SS, the spring rods for trunk were not in place but with the car. I can't figure out how to properly reinstall them so that they work properly. Any resources that I can go to for a diagram or detailed explaination on how to install?

A haynes manual should cover it - I can tell you right now though, they are a royal PITA to put in. Thread one in to one trunk hinge, leaing it loose at the other end for the time being, then you have to twist the other end and snap it behind a hook that keeps the lver-like end of it twisted, then repeat for the other side. The only problem is you have to work in close quarters and figure out how to exert like 60-70 ft-lbs of torque to twist the bastids far enough to snap 'em in. I notched the end of a square pipe to use as a 'wrench' good luck!
