Would one gallon of DBC (unsure of color yet) be enough to do a total repaint on a 68 El Camino ?? Thats painting the entire car,inside the bed and door jambs,not under hood because it will be painted black. Thats allowing a good 2-3 coats of basecoat sprayed on it and will be using a gravity feed HLVP Gun. Also would one Gallon of DCU 2021 or 2055 Clear be enough to spray at the most 4 coats on it ?? The reason I say for coats is because Im thinking after all the color sanding and machine buffing is done I will probably end up with two good coats of clear left on it to protect. You figure I would be color sanding and buffing off 2 coats and that would then leave 2 coats to protect, am I right in my thinking ?? Mark

Color will affect the amount of paint needed. For instance GM indigo blue WILL TAKE YOU atleast 8 coats to cover over that NCP271.
But if you go with say Dodge's Bright Blue(Marina Blue) you can get by with 3 coats.
I would plan on a gallon and half of base. That will mix you 3 gallons of RTS(Ready TO Spray)product.
A gallon of 2021 will do as it would leave you with 6 qts of RTS.

WIth 2055 5 qts will be needed as it has a funny mix ratio.
Id use the DCX61 hardner with both products. 2055 also needs 1oz of DX84 per RTS qt, without it 2055 has a potlife of about 30 mins. Meaning 30 mins after being mixed together its NO GOOD.
1oz is about a 3/4 cap full.

Have you considered House of Kolor? If you are wondering how much to buy I wouldn't start out with 2055 unless you are looking for experiance sanding runs! After getting bent over by PPG I now get all my paint shipped free to my door through autobodysupply.net. Hok is way easier to work with and cheaper check on a gallon of DBC and a gallon of HOK do you enjoy paying twice as much? HOK is good enough for American Hot Rod, OCC West Coast Choppers etc... I guess it is good enough for my white trash shop (two stall garage)
