Hey guys, I am going to replace the leaking radiator in my 69' Chevelle and was wondering if I'm measuring it correctly. I'm getting a measurement of 29 x 18 by measuring the finned area and not including the end tanks, is this the correct way to do this and does that sound right for a 69 big block car? I'm going to upgrade and go with an aluminum radiator so any advice will be greatly appreciated, Thanks, Bud.

I would recommend looking at an alumitech rad. You tell Don what car you have and he sells you one that will drop right in. Check out the threads in the heating and cooling section. I put one in my 67 and it runs at 180 degrees in traffic on a 100 degree Tennessee day.

I strongly 2nd the Alumitech radiator also. You won't need to measure anything or worry about running hot ever again. You can check them out at www.chevellecooling.com or on one of several good posts about them here.

Any one to answer this fellow's question above regarding the correct way to get accurate radiator measurements?
Others would probably like to know also.
Thanks!
