Does anyone know who may sell original GM Cowl Induction Flange Rubber Seals? I can find plenty of repro's but I have one like that and dont like the fit.

Thanks,

Dave

I think the gasket you need is still available from GM - #3955231 try your GM dealer or www.gmpartsdirect.com

I tried to get one through my local GM dealer and they said it has been long since discontinued.

Got one fom GMPARTS DIRECT about a year ago. Decent, but not nearly as thick as original.

Brian, call my parts guy ... Bill (Bill Sr. or Bill Jr. doesn't matter) at P&G Chevrolet (www.partszoneoline.com), father and son, they are great. The prices are just slightly more than gmpartsdirect and you get to talk to a real person and pay actual shipping costs. Tell him Bryan Shook set you. The number is 1-888-870-0280 (x214). This dealership is in the town where I grew up, I am always placing orders with them, good people, and good prices.

The only part I don't like about the thinner GM seal is that It won't hold it's shape when it gets to the flat spot in the air cleaner flange. It's one of those things that drive me nuts.

Thanks, I'm confused though. Is the part through GMParts Direct the thinner one that DN is talking about or is it a quality part. I would assume better than the repro's that OPG offers anyway right?

thanks,

Dave

Yes, the part from GM PARTS DIRECT is thinner than original, but to my knowledge it's the best one available.
