Just got a trunk floor from a 70 2 dr to install into my 71 and I noticed that the 70 did not have a vent type canister (for the fuel tank vapors I think)under the package tray like my 71 has. This replacement trunk pan is complete and I need to know how far forward to make the splice as I can not use the part that is missing the vent up under the package tray! Any advise appreciated!

I know where you are talking about... That canister drops straight down, so you could technically get pretty close.. I would just cut out the bad areas and patch in new... but if you want too do the entire piece, I would cut too about 3 or 4 inches from the canister edge and splice there! Good luck!!!
