Has anyone tried this? My car's going to be a driver, and I can certainly buy new V emblems, but the chrome on mine is actually pretty good. I was wondering if anyone had tried to repaint the red and black inside it. Would take a very small brush and steady hand, one of which I have and one of which I can buy, but it seems like that enamel paint you use on models would be too thick to use?
I know new ones aren't that expensive, but I'm really trying to reuse everything I can. This car is vastly over budget as it is.
Any tips greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I've done well with Testors model enamel and some very, very small brushes..the ones with about a dozen hairs :D

Thanks. Did you thin the paint at all? Seems like you'd have to, but it's been a while since I've done anything with Testor's.

You can also try the "paint pens" that you can find at places like Hobby Lobby or Michaels. They work well also . ;)

i've did a set of old 283 emblems a couple years ago that had very good chrome, but the paint was just faded out. i went to the auto parts store. brought a new emblem, and some photos of repros, and matched the colors to the rack of touch up paints. they look awesome, and have lasted very well.

I've had good results with Testor's as well, but thinned a bit and a toothpick! Get a drop on the toothpick and let it drip into the cavity (you can suck out too much with the corner of a paper towel). The thinned paint will flow out. After the thinner flashes off and it dries, there's no brush marks. Usually have to do it a few times to build up the paint.
