I am using a combination of paint stripper and my DA sander to remove all the paint from my car. I am getting rust to develop on the bare metal within minutes of removing the paint. So I started using WD-40 as a dressing to stop it. It does seem to work. But then I got to thinking about how I am going to get it all off so I can primer it. What are some suggestions to remove the WD-40? Or should I be using something else? Or is the newly formed surface rust no big deal and I should just use an epoxy primer over the top of it?

You can wipe the area with some Ospho, that will hold it for awhile.
Oh man..stop putting that WD-40 on there,LOL. Believe i'd mix up a strong solution of Dawn and wash the areas really good, followed by 4-5 times with prepsol. Let it dry and prime the area.
How about just stripping/sanding one area, bomb some primer on then move to the next? Whatever you do, make sure ALL traces of rust is removed before primer.

WD-40 is the worst thing you could put on there, next to silicone i guess. No primer or paint will stick unless you remove all traces of it. You need to wash down where you have sprayed it with some wax and grease remover.Wash it down three or four times using fresh paper towels each time. Now once you get a panel stripped clean wipe the panel down with Dupont 5717 metal condintioner. Read the directions. It will disolve the flash rust and leave a chalky haze when it dries and prevent further corrosion.

clean the WD40 off and hide the can till all the bodywork is done, you don't want that stuff or anything similar to be sprayed in the same garage when doing bodywork.
