www.moparts.com would be good place to check. My first car was a 73.

Don't know about the value, just don't pay more than its worth to you.
I don't think its an "investment sort of musclecar".

But a friend has a built up one with an automatic, that runs 12.1 in the quarter, and he just loves it. Keeps it looking really nice too.

Could be a lot of fun.
And I'd bet it gets better mileage than an equally fast heavier Chevelle.
Its also a little less desirable (in my opinion) so you wouldn't have to stress to much about driving it.

The 70, 71, and 72 Dusters are probably more desirable since those had the 340 engines and did not have the extra large 5 mph bumpers. But that's still a nice car to have. There's a 74 sitting down at my father-in-law's place in south Texas that I would like to restore before it's too far gone.

When I graduated from high school, I had my eye on a 74 Dart Demon, which was basically Dodge's version of the Duster. It also had the 360. Like I said, these are not bad cars to own!

Correct me if Im wrong, I believe the 360 was first available in 73 and only available in the Duster until the end of 74. If the car is being sold as an original resto, a wing and scoop were not available.

I had a 74 with a 318, 4spd, red with a black side stripe, black bucket seat interior, nice car. Good luck.

Check that frame really good, especially in the area of the front wheels. The frames on those cars are prone to rusting out. My son found out the hard way after he bought his.

thanx guys,
i believe the car can be had for 5K. i'm not really in the market but always had a soft spot for the old dusters. the car has not had a concourse resto but appears to be a clean driver. how tuff to put one in the mid 12's. i was also thinking about trying to turn it for a few $ for chevelle money. the problem is i wanna keep everything. mike
